The PM Series incremental system is a non-contact magnetic encoder for machine axes: high accuracy, high repeatability, and a short install. Analog and digital outputs ship from the same family. Because the principle is magnetic, oil, water, and dust do not blind the scale the way they blind optics, so the head stays in the cut. T type adds an LED that reports signal quality while you set the gap. C type and PG type bolt to a HIWIN guideway and drop the separate encoder bracket.

Types

C and PG types combine with a guideway; T is the standalone head with LED status. PG heads come in sizes 20, 25, 30, 35, 45 and 55; dimensions for PG30 to PG55 are available from HIWIN. Analog resolution is one count per 2 mm pole; digital resolves 1 µm. Repeatability ±1 µm, accuracy ±8 µm/m.
