The APM Series is a true-absolute magnetic encoder: position is encoded on the scale, not held in a buffer battery, so a power cycle does not send the axis looking for home. An LED reports signal quality while you set the gap. The same magnetic principle as the incremental family shrugs off oil, water, and dust. Resolution reaches 1 µm, repeatability ±1 µm, and the housing is rated IP68. Output is BiSS 27-bit or H-code, which talks to the major drive and controller families without a proprietary box in between.

Position scale (APS20)

The matching absolute scale orders separately as APS20: one accuracy class, cut to length.
