LMSA Series
Iron-core linear motors with high power density and minimal cogging: peak force 4,458 N
Linear Motor Components
LMC Series Coreless Linear Motors
HIWIN synchronous linear motors LMC are the born sprinters. They are light and extremely dynamic. This is due to their coreless primary part (forcer) with epoxy cast coils: it needs to move very little of its own weight. The secondary part is composed of a U-shaped stator made of permanent magnets.
Need maximum force density instead of the lightest forcer? The iron-core LMSA trades some smoothness for 4,458 N peak force. View LMSA Series →
0 N
Attraction force between forcer and stator
2,736 N
Peak force from the largest forcer (LMCFC)
0.05 kg
Mass of the smallest forcer (LMC-HUB1)
The letter after LMC picks the frame: A, B and C forcers run in 32 mm pole-pair-pitch tracks 60, 80 and 103 mm tall, D, E and F in 60 mm pitch tracks 86.8, 106.8 and 131.3 mm tall, and HUB is the 41.5 mm miniature frame. The final character is the forcer length within its frame (1 through 8, then A and C for the longest coils). LMC is coreless, so there is no attraction-force column: attraction between forcer and stator is zero. Height is the magnet track (stator) height from the order code.

How a part number reads
LMC A S 3 (magnet track: 60 mm stator height, standard model, 320 mm segment)
The configurator assembles this number for you, with drawings and 3D CAD. Configure ↗
Seven U-shaped track heights, each carrying its own forcer family.
Stator segments chain end to end to build the stroke; the length code depends on the frame.

How buying works
HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
