HIWIN's QE linear guideway is based on a four-row circular-arc contact. The QE series linear guideway with SynchMotion™ Technology offers smooth movement, superior lubrication, quieter operation and longer running life. Therefore the QE linear guideway has broad industrial applicability in the high-tech industry where high speed, low noise, and reduced dust generation is required. The QE series is interchangeable with the EG series.

Variants
H blocks are square type and W blocks are flange type; S marks the medium-load block and C the heavy-load block. The final letter is the block mounting direction: A mounts from the top, B from the bottom (bottom mounting is offered on the flange blocks).

Accuracy classes
Five classes; pick by the accuracy of the equipment the guideway rides in. Interchangeable-type guideways are offered in C, H and P.
- C Normal — General transfer and automation axes where positioning tolerance is loose.
- H High — The usual step up for automated machinery that repeats a position.
- P Precision — Measuring and semiconductor equipment running to tight tolerances.
- SP Super Precision — Non-interchangeable type only; for high-end precision stages.
- UP Ultra Precision — Non-interchangeable type only; the tightest class HIWIN grinds.
Preload
Negative clearance between grooves and balls raises stiffness. Keep preload at ZA or lighter below size QE20 to protect guideway life; the interchangeable type is offered in Z0 and ZA only.
- Z0 Very Light (0 - 0.02C) — Constant load direction, low impact, modest precision demands.
- ZA Light (0.03C - 0.05C) — Low loads with high precision required.
- ZB Medium (0.06C - 0.08C) — High rigidity under vibration and impact; non-interchangeable type, sizes QE20 and up.
Dust protection
Standard protection is an end seal plus bottom seal; add codes to the model number for harsher environments.
- ZZ End seal + bottom seal + scraper — The scraper clears weld spatter and metal cuttings before they reach the seals.
- DD Double seals + bottom seal — Double seals wipe foreign matter off the rail before it enters the block.
- KK Double seals + bottom seal + scraper — The full stack for chip-laden or dusty machine environments.
Material
Carbon steel is standard.
- M Stainless steel — Available for QE15 only; specify for corrosion-sensitive or cleanroom work.
