The RG series features a roller as the rolling element instead of steel balls. The RG series is designed with a 45-degree angle of contact. Elastic deformation of the linear contact surface, during loading, is greatly reduced thereby offering greater rigidity and higher load capacities in all 4 load directions. The RG series linear guideway offers high performance for high-precision manufacturing and can achieve a longer service life than traditional ball bearing linear guideways.

RG is interchangeable with the QR Series: QR blocks add SynchMotion quiet running on the same roller rail. View QR Series →

Variants

H is the square block, W the flange block for heavy moment loads; L is a low-profile square (same assembled height as the flange type in each size), and S/F are ultra-low square and flange blocks offered in sizes 35 and 45. The letters after the size are load type (C heavy, H super heavy) and block mounting (A from the top, C from top or bottom).

Accuracy classes

Four classes cover the RG range; choose by the accuracy the machine demands. Interchangeable blocks and rails hold H and P class only.

  • H High — The working class for general machine building.
  • P Precision — Tighter height and width tolerance for precision equipment; the ceiling for interchangeable sets.
  • SP Super Precision — For machine tools where running parallelism drives finish quality.
  • UP Ultra Precision — The tightest class, for grinding-level accuracy.

Preload

Oversized rollers set a negative clearance between raceway and rollers. Three standard preloads; on smaller sizes stay at ZA or lighter so over-preload does not shorten life.

  • Z0 Light preload — 0.02C-0.04C. A set load direction, low impact, modest precision demands.
  • ZA Medium preload — 0.07C-0.09C. Where high rigidity and high precision are required.
  • ZB Heavy preload — 0.12C-0.14C. Super high rigidity under vibration and impact.

Dust protection

Standard blocks ship with end seal and bottom seal; add a code for harsher environments. The scraper clears high-temperature chips and larger debris, double seals wipe fine contamination completely.

  • Standard (no symbol) — End seal plus bottom seal, the baseline protection.
  • ZZ End seal, bottom seal and scraper — Adds the scraper for hot chips around cutting machines.
  • DD Double seals and bottom seal — Doubled wiping for fine dust without the scraper.
  • KK Double seals, bottom seal and scraper — The full stack for grinding and heavy chip environments; extends overall block length per the catalog table.

How buying works

Spec it in the configurator: drawings, 3D CAD, and a quote to follow.

HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
