HIWIN's QR series offers super high rigidity and very high load capacities. The QR series with SynchMotion™ Technology offers low friction, smooth movement, quieter operation and longer running life. In industries where high accuracy, low noise and high rigidity are required, the QR series is the ideal guideway choice. The QR series is interchangeable with the RG series.

QR shares its rail with the RG Series: SynchMotion roller blocks drop onto an existing RG axis for quieter running, no redesign required. View RG Series →

Applications

  • CNC machining centers
  • Heavy duty cutting machines
  • CNC grinding machines
  • Injection molding machines
  • Electric discharge machines
  • Wire cutting machines
  • Plano millers
  • Automation systems
  • Transportation equipment
  • Devices requiring high rigidity and high load capacity

Variants

The block-type letter runs H square, L low-profile square (assembled height matches the flange type in the same size), and W flange; the flange type, with its low assembly height and large mounting surface, is the pick for heavy moment loads. C is heavy load and H super heavy; the final letter is the block mounting style (A from the top, C from top or bottom).

Accuracy classes

Four classes, from high through ultra precision. Interchangeable-type blocks and rails are offered in H and P only; SP and UP require the non-interchangeable type.

  • H High — The baseline class: height and width tolerance from ±0.03 mm (size 20) to ±0.05 mm (size 45).
  • P Precision — One-sided tolerances (0 to -0.03 mm at size 20) and the tightest class available on interchangeable sets.
  • SP Super Precision — Height variation down to 0.004 mm at size 20; non-interchangeable type only.
  • UP Ultra Precision — The tightest class: running parallelism down to 1 µm on short rails. Non-interchangeable type only.

Preload

Preload is applied with oversized rollers to remove clearance, improving stiffness and precision. Three standard classes; for smaller model sizes HIWIN recommends no more than ZA so over-preload does not shorten guideway life.

  • Z0 Light Preload (0.02C–0.04C) — For a constant load direction with low impact and modest precision demands.
  • ZA Medium Preload (0.07C–0.09C) — Where high rigidity and high precision are required.
  • ZB Heavy Preload (0.12C–0.14C) — Super high rigidity under vibration and impact.

Dust protection

Standard protection is an end seal plus bottom seal; add the accessory code after the model number for more. Extra seals lengthen the block slightly (Table 2-11-17).

  • (none) Standard (end seal + bottom seal) — Keeps iron chips and dust from entering the block and shortening life.
  • ZZ End seal + bottom seal + scraper — The scraper clears high-temperature iron chips and larger foreign objects.
  • DD Double seals + bottom seal — Double seals enhance the wiping effect so foreign matter is wiped off completely.
  • KK Double seals + bottom seal + scraper — The full protection stack for the dirtiest environments, such as machining with heavy chip loads.

How buying works

Spec it in the configurator: drawings, 3D CAD, and a quote to follow.

HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
