The DMS is the all-applications core of the DM direct-drive family: an inner-rotating torque motor with the high-resolution feedback system built in, coupling the load with zero backlash and no reduction mechanism. Twelve models across four frames (Ø110 to Ø300 mm) span 3.1 to 150 N·m continuous and 9.3 to 450 N·m peak, holding ±2.5 arc-second repeatability from a 4.32-million-count sin/cos encoder. IP65 sealing, integrated power-on or power-off clamps and Hall sensors are ordering options.

Need the rotating mass on the outside for inertia matching? DMY is the outer-rotating sibling, 12 to 300 N·m with the same feedback system. View DMY Series →

Models

Model digits encode frame and torque size: DMS34 is a Ø200 frame at 20 N·m continuous. L windings, offered only on the DMS3 and DMS7 frames, reach 1.5 to 3.3 times the max speed of the S winding at the same torque, depending on size (DMS34 400 to 600 rpm, DMS7C 24 to 80 rpm). Accuracy ships at ±15 arc-sec, tightening to ±10 or ±5 with factory error compensation.

How buying works

Spec it in the configurator: drawings, 3D CAD, and a quote to follow.

HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
