The TM-2 (J0) is the TM-2 torque motor with the water-cooling jacket added: a closed cooling sleeve with a water-tight seal, so there is no jacket to design or assemble on the machine side. The large hollow shaft still swallows cables and utilities, and cogging torque is reduced down to 50%.

The same frames without the jacket: TM-2 is the base frameless motor when the machine supplies the cooling circuit. View TM-2 Series →

  • 6,900 N·m

Peak torque, largest frame (TM-2-GH (J0))

  • 420 mm

    Maximum hollow shaft

  • 50%

Cogging torque reduction vs the TMRW

Applications

  • Torque motor rotary tables
  • 5-axis machining centers
  • 2-axis fork milling heads
  • Gear machining, hobbing and power skiving
  • Magnetic fluid couplings
  • Roller feeders
  • Digital printing
  • Space telescopes
  • Wire drawing machines

Frames

Frame code = stator external diameter including the jacket, second character = rotor height (40 to 170 mm); each model in the frame tables winds two ways, and the torque columns span the windings. Continuous ratings assume water cooling through the integrated jacket.

Windings

Winding choice lives in the frame tables: each model prints two executions with their own torque, speed and current ratings.

  • L / P / S Winding families — Two windings per model; ratings per the frame tables

Cooling jacket

The reserved code at the end of the model number carries the jacket execution.

  • J0 Jacket without bridge — The standard closed-cooling execution
  • J3 Jacket with bridge

Temperature sensors

  • 0 PTC130 + PTC100 + Pt1000 — Standard in-winding set
  • 1 PTC130 + PTC100 + Pt1000 x3 — Triple set

Cable length

  • 20 2.0 m — Standard
  • 10 1.0 m
  • 05 0.5 m

Cable output

  • S Straight output
  • V Straight output with cable clamp
  • A Straight output with cable gland
  • H 90° output in tangent direction with cable clamp
  • P All cables separate with cable clamp (straight output)

How buying works

Spec it in the configurator: drawings, 3D CAD, and a quote to follow.

HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
