The TM-2 is a permanent-magnet synchronous torque motor that bolts directly to the load: no gearbox, no backlash, no wear parts, with the large hollow shaft swallowing cables and utilities. As the new generation of the TMRW series it delivers larger torque and lower cogging from the same size and installation interface. Seven frames from Ø160 to Ø565 mm span 27 to 3,375 N·m continuous (water cooled) and up to 6,000 N·m peak, every motor carrying PTC100, PTC130 and Pt1000 temperature sensors in the winding.

Coolant washing over the axis? TM-2 (J0) wraps the same frames in an integrated water-cooling jacket with a water-tight seal. View TM-2 (J0) Series →

  • 6,000 N·m

Applications

  • 5-axis machine tools
  • Rotary tables and indexers
  • Swivel heads and trunnions
  • Grinding and milling spindles
  • Automation rotary axes
  • Inspection equipment

Frames

Frame code = stator diameter, second digit = rotor height. Winding codes vary by frame: L or S on 1x and TM-2-43 to 47; P on 2x, Ax and 4F; P or S on 4A and TM-2-75 to 7F; P or L on TM-2-73; S only on Dx and Gx. Torque/speed characteristics are in the motor datasheet. Continuous ratings assume water cooling through the O-ring jacket seat.

Windings

Winding codes vary by frame; torque/speed characteristics are in the motor datasheet.

  • L Low-speed winding — 1x, TM-2-43 to 47 and TM-2-73; higher torque constant, lower max speed
  • P P winding — 2x and Ax, TM-2-4A, 4F and all 7x frames
  • S High-speed winding — 1x, TM-2-43 to 4A and TM-2-75 to 7F; the only winding on Dx and Gx

Temperature sensors

  • 0 PTC100 + PTC130 + Pt1000 — Standard in-winding set
  • 1 Triple set — Three of each sensor

Cable output

  • S/V/A Straight variants — Plain, cable clamp, or cable gland
  • H/P Tangent / separate — 90° tangent exit, or all cables separate

Cooling

  • WC Water cooled — Catalog continuous ratings; O-ring jacket seat
  • (J0) Integrated jacket — Sealed closed-cooling execution (own series)

How buying works

Spec it in the configurator: drawings, 3D CAD, and a quote to follow.

HIWIN series are configured to your application, not bought off the shelf. Start from your loads and speeds if you are still choosing a size.
